Bella Cuomo Is Chris Cuomo's Daughter Who Stepped up at Home When He Had COVID-19

Bella Cuomo, whose mom said she lived up to her name, is one of three children born to former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo and wellness entrepreneur Cristina Cuomo. While most of her family members recovered from Covid-19, she became their caretaker and the "family videographer."

Bella Cuomo became a social media sensation when the world discovered she was the daughter of a famous man, former "Cuomo Prime Time" host Chris Cuomo. Her dad and her mom, Purist founder Cristina Cuomo, made regular appearances in her lip-syncing and dance videos on TikTok.

Just two years ago, one of Bella's videos went viral when Chris appeared shirtless in one of her TikTok clips, garnering millions of views and swooners in the comment section. However, there are other reasons Bella's TikTok account attracted so many followers.

The teenager documented her family's tumultuous journey with Covid-19 in 2020 as her parents and younger brother contracted the virus. Thankfully, they all survived under her care and her younger sister's help.

Bella and her siblings have consistently appeared on Cristina's social media pages, with the mom of three flaunting her children's noteworthy achievements. While Bella's siblings seem to be taking a more athletic route, Bella is more interested in joining the entertainment industry.

Bella Cuomo's Birth

Bella drew her first breath on March 13, 2003. On her 19th birthday, much earlier this year, her mom shared a moving tribute on Instagram alongside a slideshow of old and new photos that included Bella.

Cristina affectionately referred to her daughter as "Bella bird" as she expressed admiration for her wit, wisdom, song, and personality. Thankful for Bella's existence, who always kept her family on their toes, she gushed:

"[...] always keeping us on our toes, leaving us laughing, and our hearts full. Today you are 19, and every day since your first has been a gift."

Cristina revealed that she took Bella to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as a birthday gift, where she met her cousins and toured the city. The pair engaged in exciting activities, including hang-gliding "over the biggest monolith," visiting the Christ The Redeemer statue, and traveling from Copacabana to Leblon.

Bella Is a High School Graduate

She graduated in May 2021, and Cristina took to Instagram once more to celebrate another one of Bella's milestones. Alongside a photo of Bella in graduation attire, Cristina penned a sweet message praising her daughter's ability to see, speak, and live in her truth.

She also praised Bella for being beyond her years and taking on many roles as she grew older. Cristina said the dedicated theatre kid lived up to her name – which meant "the most beautiful girl you'll ever come by," according to the urban dictionary – as she continued:

"[...] My theatre kid, jester, designated driver, puzzle-solver, ever-loyal, Bella, who leaned into moments of discomfort and evolved into the most beautiful human being, living up to your name. [3x graduation cap emojis]"

Cristina then offered words of encouragement for Bella's class of 2021, advising them to remain curious and kind. Later that year, she shared a National Daughters Day tribute to Bella and her youngest, Carolina.

Bella Is the Daughter of a Famous Father

Bella's parents tied the knot in a Catholic ceremony on November 24, 2001. The ceremony took place in her mom's hometown Southhampton, Long Island, and it was a union her late grandfather, Mario Cuomo, said was a match made in heaven or something close.

Two years later, Cristina and Chris began expanding their family, and their children have grown to appreciate bonding over days at the beach, doing yoga, and surfing. On 2020's Mother's Day, Cristina said she was grateful for "the trio who make my heart runneth over."

She revealed that Bella and her siblings had written her poems as a Mother's Day gift, honoring her love for poetry. Two months later, her husband's cameo in Bella's TikTok video made headlines as Chris's impressively maintained physique was on full display.

The "POV" video of Bella "trying to say goodnight" while her parents did their "20-step night routine" garnered much attention, leading Bella and her mom to appear in a short interview with Entertainment Tonight. The young TikToker said it was "weird" to see people on the internet calling her family members "hot."

Still, she acknowledged that her dad's presence in her videos – particularly the one where the former anchor wooed many in his fifties – gave her account a boost. Chris also cameoed in many of her dance videos, showing off his "dad moves."

Bella also told Entertainment Tonight about the career she hoped to lead. Like Erykah Badu's eldest son, Seven Sirius Benjamin, and even Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Bella forged her own path. As a former high school theater kid, the aspiring singer and actor also partook in theatre camp and appeared in stage productions for "Chicago" and "Mary Poppins."

Bella Had Extra Responsibilities While Her Parents Quarantined

Her dad contracted the coronavirus in April 2020 and was quarantined in his basement while he continued to host his former news show "Cuomo Prime Time." Two weeks after his recovery, Bella's mom got infected by the virus, and her brother followed not long after.

Bella helped her mom while Chris recovered and cared for Cristina and her brother soon after. She would check on her dad, wearing a hazmat suit and a mask, as per the Covid-19 safety guidelines, while his symptoms receded. When he announced his "re-entry," he expressed gratitude for his family, saying:

"Thank you for being so nice to me, thank you for taking care of everything you had to, thank you for taking care of me, and Bella, thank you for stepping up and now adding family videographer to your resume."

Bella Is the Oldest of Her Siblings

Her younger brother, Mario, is 16 years old this year and has been a karate blackbelt since 2019. His personality differs drastically from his dad's, as the youngster's sensitive and introverted nature caused a significant shift in Chris's parenting approach.

The youngest Cuomo child is 13-year-old Carolina, an aspiring gymnast like Alyssa Milano's daughter, Elizabella Dylan Bugliari. Sweetly referred to as "Cha Cha" in her mom's posts, Carolina took third place at the Manhattan Classic Gymnastics meet in 2020.
